NEVER ENDING STORIES

I was selected to be part of the Never Ending Stories exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg in Germany, Nov 2017 - Jan 2018. An exhibition exploring the multiple representations of the endless loop, from antiquity to modern day. Never-Ending Stories exhibits work from artists including Duchamp, Dali, Warhol, Kubrick, Escher and Yayoi Kusama.

My exhibited piece is a digital GIF animation of Magritte’s 'Dangerous Liasons'. Itself, already an seemingly endless image, with the refection of the figure staring back at the viewer. I took this concept and though animation, aimed to draw the audience further into the image, by bringing the image to life in an endless cycle. As the most contemporary example of the loop exhibited, my Magritte animation opens the exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, displayed in room 1 opposite Max Beckmann’s 'Cafe Interior'.
